I used to criticize and wonder why
some people shout for joy
and how they'd tell their friends to depend
on this almighty Lord
but then I was saved and now I'm raised
a child of the king
now I glorify, testify, praise and sing
Cause when I see a sinner lost and then he turns his life around
when I think of how He overcame the things that got me down
when I hear a choir singing songs from long ago
and how the music flows within my heart and touches my soul
and when I hear His children speak of blessings falling down like rain
and I remember how He died but on the third day He came
back to save a sinner and help me claim the victory
oh I just get excited
but, maybe that's just me
the devil may come around and knock me down
and say this joy will fade
but I won't give in to the thought of sin
staring me in the face
cause I have the power in my darkest hour
that sends me to my knees
I take my bible I read it, I use it, I speak it to make the devil see
